Studium „Animal Biology and Biomedical Sciences“ an der Tierärztlichen Hochschule Hannover, Abschluss als Master of Science 2016.
Sonja Johannsmeier ist seit 2016 am Laser Zentrum Hannover e.V. als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin tätig. Seit Oktober 2020 ist Sonja Johannsmeier Leiterin der Gruppe Biophotonik in der Abteilung Industrielle und Biomedizinische Optik.
