Abstract
Laser-based processes for coating, modifying, or generating structures on surfaces take up a key position in current and future manufacturing processes. This applies above all to the areas in which these processes, which are also referred to as laser cladding, have so far been successfully used for the production of prototypes and where there is now a transition to productive use. Due to continuous progress in the improvement of laser sources, process technology and process strategy, applications in the microscale range are also moving more and more into the focus of scientific research and development.
