Molded parts with functional surfaces: Laser micromachining of injection molds

This poster highlights recent results in surface functionalization using ultrashort pulse lasers. Injection molds are structured by a laser so that the molded parts obtain a desired function. Special attention is given to the rose-petal effect and the lotus effect. A study on water contact angle measurement of injection molded sensor housings and other application examples are presented.
