Abstract
The application of two-photon polymerization and molding for the fabrication of a multifocal diffractive- refractive lens operating in water is studied. The fabricated lens is of a spheric shape and combines diffractive and refractive parts in a single element to generate three foci. The lens performance is characterized by visualization of the beam propagation in a transparent basin filled with water containing fluorescein. The experimental measurements are in good agreement with the theoretical description. The obtained results are promising for the realization of trifocal intraocular lenses with predetermined light intensity distribution between the foci.
