Large-area surface structuring of glass is of particular interest for a wide range of applications (e.g. architectural and solar glass). Conventional methods like sandblasting or wet chemical etching technologies have reached their limits in terms of flexibility, process velocity and pollution. With the alternative of a laser-based surface structuring, all disadvantages of the current structuring methods can be avoided.
