As of July 1st, 2019, Dr.-Ing. Peter Jäschke will be heading the Production and Systems Department of the Laser Zentrum Hannover e.V. (LZH). He thus succeeds Dr.-Ing. Oliver Suttmann, who will be working in industry.
Dr.-Ing. Peter Jäschke has been working at the LZH for already 20 years and took over the leadership of the Composites Group of the Production and Systems Department in 2011. He studied physics at the Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg and obtained his doctorate degree (Dr.-Ing.) from the Leibniz Universität Hannover for his PhD thesis on "Laser transmission welding of continuously carbon-reinforced TPF plastics and thermoplastic polymers" in 2012. His main research areas are the processing of plastics and fiber composites.
The Composites Group will now be led by Dipl.-Ing. Verena Wippo, who has been working in the group as a scientific employee since 2011.
