On June 9th, 2016 h1 – Fernsehen aus Hannover aired a report about the science and technology park Hannover (WTH), where the Laser Zentrum Hannover e.V. (LZH) is based, too. In 2013, the park was revitalized and thus an attractive, 28 hectare large location for technology companies was created. Today, the WTH is home to more than 20 companies and research institutions. Another 13 hectares nearby the LZH and the Institut für Integrierte Produktion Hannover (IPH) are available to fresh arrivals.

Focusing on optical and production technologies, these two institutes cover the technological focus of the WTH. And at the same time, they offer optimum conditions for the foundation of further technology companies: "We are trying to trigger this here in our institute. This means that we are offering start-ups the opportunity to test their business model under relatively favourable conditions, to keep their investment costs low and thus to put their business model to test in a familiar environment - before leaving the Laser Zentrum some day, and then settling down in the technology center in our neighbourhood.", explains Dr. Dietmar Kracht, Executive Director of the LZH.

With the Cutting Edge Coatings GmbH (CEC), Micreon GmbHneoLASE GmbHLZH Laser Akademie GmbH and ROWIAK GmbH, five of the 17 LZH spin-off companies are based in the WTH.
