Ultrafast Yb:KYW regenerative amplifier with combined gain spectra of the optical axes Nm and Np

Abstract
A Yb:KYW regenerative amplifier directly diode pumped is demonstrated to study a novel approach to reduce gain-narrowing. Two gain spectra (10 nm separated) are combined by using the crystal directions Nm and Np of Yb:KYW.
