Innovative Product Development by Additive Manufacturing

IPeG IPDAM Workshop
24 September 2024
Garbsen

Additive Manufacturing (AM) revolutionizes product development by offering unprecedented design freedom and manufacturing capabilities. AM allows for complex geometries, enables customization and the manufacturing of products tailored to individual needs and preferences. It is possible to accelerate the product development cycle by quickly producing prototypes and to explore a wide range of materials, opening up possibilities for enhanced functionality and performance.

Learn more about the potentials of Additive Manufacturing in our workshop “Innovative Product Development by Additive Manufacturing" on September 24, 2024. We organize the workshop in collaboration with the Institute for Product Development (IPeG) at Leibniz University of Hannover.

General information

Additive manufacturing and its application in aerospace, automotive, machinery and tooling, medical technology, and many other sectors of our economy are undergoing rapid development. The industry surrounding Additive Manufacturing machines, materials, services, and development tools is characterized by strong growth and great potential for innovation. It is essential to further increase the performance of additively manufactured components for series production through innovative processes and materials as well as the integration of effects. At the same time, the advantages of high flexibility, low material usage and targeted customization compared to conventional processes are far from exhausted. Design and development must be emphasized as a key competence for successful product creation through Additive Manufacturing.

Workshop Topics:

Design and Methods for Additive Manufacturing
Methods and design tools for the development of components and applications for Additive Manufacturing.

Printed Effects
Integration of high-performance effects and functions through the degrees of freedom of Additive Manufacturing.

Innovations in Processes and Materials
Development of innovative processes and materials to further expand the potential of Additive Manufacturing.

Contributions:

Informal abstracts of max. 150 words (English) can be submitted by email to AM@ipeg.uni-hannover.de until 06 May 2024. Papers of accepted abstracts will be published in an ISBN numbered book by Springer Vieweg.
