Dr. Dag Heinemann took up the Professorship for Phytophotonics at the Institute of Horticultural Production Systems at the Leibniz Universität Hannover (LUH) this winter semester. His research group will be located at the Hannover Center for Optical Technologies (HOT) to ensure close links to optical technologies in research and teaching. Prof. Dr. Dag Heinemann was previously Head of the Biophotonics Group at the Laser Zentrum Hannover e.V. (LZH) and worked at the Lower Saxony Center for Biomedical Engineering, Implant Research and Development (NIFE).

Prof. Dr. Dag Heinemann studied Life Science at Leibniz University Hannover from 2004 to 2009. He completed his Ph.D. project on laser manipulation of pluripotent stem cells as part of the Ph.D. program "Regenerative Science" of the Hannover Medical School, already at the LZH. After working as a postdoc, he took over as Head of Group of Biophotonics in 2016. This position is now taken over by Dr. Sonja Johannsmeier, who has been working in the group since 2016.
