The Laser Zentrum Hannover e.V. (LZH) is presenting at Hannover Messe 2026, together with the Cluster of Excellence PhoenixD (Hall 11, B56) and Niedersachsen ADDITIV (Hall 15, A14), diverse applications and offerings in laser technology and additive manufacturing.

Hall 11: Integrated photonics for health, security and industry 

The Cluster of Excellence PhoenixD, together with Laser Zentrum Hannover e.V. (LZH), showcases the solutions that cutting-edge photonics research from Lower Saxony creates for societal and economic challenges. 

The focus is on two exhibits: 

• SmartSens – an optical test system that transforms any smartphone into a medical analysis device. For accessible, mobile diagnostics and modern healthcare delivery. 
• Quantum key distribution system – a ready-to-deploy quantum optical system that paves the way for secure communication and strengthens digital sovereignty. 

The vision of the PhoenixD Cluster of Excellence is digital optics manufacturing. Fundamental research in integrated photonics lays the foundation for a technological revolution that enables intelligent, compact and adaptive optical systems, thereby opening up new applications for industry. 

LZH contributes its application-oriented expertise in laser technology and manufacturing, working together with PhoenixD to advance cutting-edge research into market-ready innovations.
