The "Enterprise Europe Network" (EEN) is the world’s largest support network for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with international ambitions. It consists of more than 600 business-related member organizations in Europe and worldwide. For the new program period, the LZH and the X4B Serviceagentur complement the consortium.

The NBank, the investment and development bank of the state of Lower Saxony, the Leibniz University Hannover, the Laser Zentrum Hannover e.V., and the X4B Serviceagentur für die Wirtschaft GmbH offer practical support in the development of business, technology, and project partnerships. In addition to assistance for internationalization, the European Commission's current program period focuses primarily on the topics of sustainability, digitalization, and resilience. Focused consulting services support companies from Lower Saxonyon their way to achieving ecological and social goals while strengthening their competitiveness. Start-ups and scale-ups are also moving even more into the focus of the EEN Lower Saxony as important drivers of innovation.

"With the two new consortium partners Laser Zentrum Hannover e.V. and X4B Serviceagentur für die Wirtschaft GmbH, we have again been able to expand our portfolio of expertise. We are pleased to be able to offer our customers even broader support in economically difficult times," says Jörg Büsel, head of the project at the NBank.

Companies and research institutions from Lower Saxony can obtain free consulting and support from the network on the following topics:

  • Development of foreign markets
  • Search for business and project partners
  • Participation in partnering opportunities and company trips
  • Individual consulting on European funding programs
  • Support on the topics of sustainability, digitalization, resilience, and financing, including through the newly created role of the sustainability advisor
  • Corporate audits to assess a company's innovation, internationalization, and/or sustainability competencies

One company that has already successfully made use of the services of the EEN Lower Saxony is Klasmann-Deilmann GmbH. The company from Lower Saxony is the leading group in the international substrate industry with numerous sales and production companies in Europe, Asia, and America.

To develop further resources, Klasmann-Deilmann was looking for locations worldwide. The EEN Lower Saxony was able to help the company in this endeavor. Through Latvian and Lithuanian network colleagues, contact was established with Baltic partners, and funding was obtained to set up and operate production facilities.
