Together with the company Cailabs, the Laser Zentrum Hannover e.V. (LZH) has combined a Bessel beam with a laser scanner. Those who are interested can learn more about this from the LZH and Cailabs experts in the English-language webseminar "Large area high quality glass cutting with femtosecond Bessel beams" on April 07th, 2020 at 4:00 p.m.

Bessel rays are characterized by a very long focus area compared to Gauss rays. The CANUNDA-AXICON is a new type of axicon that generates a Bessel beam in reflection instead of transmission. This makes it a very resilient and high-performance optic that is also suitable for ultra-short laser pulses. The LZH scientists have successfully combined a Bessel beam with a laser scanner using this optic. With the system structure, transparent materials such as glass and plastic can be efficiently processed with an ultra-short pulse laser.

LZH and CAILABS are offering a joint webseminar on April 7, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. on the use of Bessel rays in the ultrashort pulse laser processing of transparent materials. The webseminar is free and will be held in English.
