With pulsed laser radiation, coated glass can be locally decoated. In this way, the desired functionality of components, such as glass printed circuit boards or organic LEDs, can be achieved.

 

With the suitable laser parameters, glass can be very precisely decoated in comparison to etching. During the laser-based process, the coating is locally vaporized with laser pulses. Because of the short contact time of the laser pulses, neither the glass substrate nor the remaining coating is damaged.
