Development of Laser Scribing Processes and Production Technologies in thin-film Photovoltaics

Background/Approach

Laser Zentrum Hannover (LZH) is one of Germanys leading research institutes in the field of laser machining. We are looking for students who want to support our research projects as well as support our development of industrial applications. The goal of these projects is to integrate laser technology into the production of thin-film solar cells to lower the production costs.
This is your opportunity to learn much about the new and vastly growing field of laser processing technologies. The tasks enclose experimental research for laser structuring of different thin film materials. Furthermore, concepts for processing systems have to be developed together with our well-known industrial project partners, to enable a quick transfer of the research results to the industrial praxis.

Qualification You are expected to work independently and think creatively in terms of constructing and designing experimental setups at various points within the project.
Requirements:
  • basic knowledge in optics
  • methodical and able to work independently
  • interested in experimental research
Location Laser Zentrum Hannover (LZH).
Supervision Scientists from the laser and photovoltaic division.
