BMU-Projekt: Neue innovative Ansätze zur laserbasierten Kantenisolation mit dem Ziel der Effizienzsteigerung und Kostenreduzierung" (GOAL1)
This joint project focuses on developing novel innovative laser-based edge-isolation processes for silicon solar cells and their application in industry. Here, the aim is not to optimize existing processes but to investigate new approaches. An optimized overal system, consisting of a high-speed data preparation system, and adapted novel laser beam source and customized beam guiding and two laser-based edge-isolation processes are the core areas of the project.
BMBF project "polymer photovoltaic processing" (PPP)
Generating electricity in cost-efficient, large-scale and light-weight organic solar cells is the aim of the new BMBF research initiative. The advantages of organic photovoltaic materials open up both enourmous cost-reduction potentials for the production and new product visions.
- Transparent photovoltaics that can be glued to windows or housings
- Roll-type photovoltaics that can be produced and laid on a large-scale basis
- Integrated photovoltaics that allow for equipping any electrical device with an own integrated power supply by novel solar cells
The PPP project is aimed at developing a process for mass production of organic solar cells. Independently of the material, the research focus is on the large-scale generation of semi-finished parts for organic solar cells.
Overview of the glass processing field
In this field our competences range from structuring flat glass and glass tube surfaces to micro glass processing, cutting, joining and forming of glass tubes. In addition, highly innovative technologies, such as glass and metal joining or stress-induced glass drilling, are being developed.
