Laser welded lid and case structure for gas-tight encapsulation for space systems (Titanium TiAl6V4)

Work of the group focusses on:

• Improving microprocessing using ultra-short pulsed laser
• Microwelding of copper and thermally sensitive materials
• Micro-stereolithography/Direct Precision Manufacturing
• Optical and mechanical design of systems for laser material processing
• Precise laser conditioning of abrasive tools and special purpose machinery manufacturing

• Laser supported conditioning of abrasive cutting-off wheels (DFG)
• Manufacturing processes for the generation of riblets on compressor blades (DFG)
• Nanostructured polymers for optical applications (VolkswagenStiftung)
• PHOCAM „Photopolymer based customized additive manufacturing technologies“ (EU)
