Work of the group focusses on:

• Support of applications and research in the field of optical technologies - especially laser technology – through qualification measures and technology transfer
• Development of industry-relevant training and education courses
• Initiation and carrying out of national and international projects concerning training and education

The group plans and carries out strategic training and education projects, both nationally and internationally. These projects are partially in cooperation with the LZH Laser Akademie; they are mainly aimed at initiating and preparing for further cooperation in research, development and training. The LZH Laser Akademie offers regular training and education courses since 2003, with their main efforts aiming at vocational training. The LZH is also involved in offering and adapting academic further education courses together with the Leibniz Universität Hannover.

Current work and projects:

• Testing, consulting and training centers for laser technology in the Russian regions Central Ural, Kaluga and Southern Russia
• Organizing and setting up of a testing, consulting and training center for laser-assisted surface technology in Kirov, Russia
• Organizing and setting up the German-Russian Institute for Surface Technology
